The Suburbs.

Don't you forget about me. Don't don't don't don't.
I think that I needed a little bit of an escape from Chicago, so that I could clear my head about life. Kate, Hannah and I went out to Park Ridge yesterday and spent the night. Kate's mother is THE SHIT. She has to be the warmest and nicest woman on the planet. She's a redesigner for interior decorating and she's starting a company that she wants me to do the logo for. At around midnight, we had a meeting about how it's going to look. As the time goes by, I feel more and more like an adult.

We began our trip by going to Kate's highschool, where they filmed some of the Breakfast Club. The football field...

Her parents, Joyce and Bryant, cooked us a fantastic meal complimented with red wine from Portugal. I love drinking wine at dinner. Something about that makes me feel so good, and I think that when I start a family of my own I will definitely start a tradition with them. And to keep my family tradition going, shots of Patron afterwards. Just when we thought we were going to explode after dinner, her mother made us coffee and cheesecake! We probably spent a total of 3 hours at the dinner table. I love that. I really do.

We didn't stay up too late because there is something so cozy and sleepy about a basement in a beautiful house equipped with a giant televison and a large sectional couch. Two scruffy dogs and Sapporo. Pajamas and face massages. I have the most awesome amazing friends ever. And I can't wait for them to come to Minneapolis.

This morning was lovely. We drank coffee and ate strawberries, oranges and biscotties overlooking her quaint little backyard. This made me miss my family. This made me miss the suburbs.

I can really understand the appeal of getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and living in the suburbs. And it made me yearn to move away to a smaller city.

Taos?
